I’m going to begin doing something a bit different for the earnings posts and instead of just highlighting the Self Investors Leading stocks that are moving with volume, I’m going to highlight companies that beat estimates and guided higher (or just beat by a wide margin) and companies that missed estimates and guided lower (or just missed by a wide margin).  Companies that are Self Investors Leading Stocks (ie. great fundamentals and above 200 day moving average) will be marked with (SLS) and will include the Self Investors fundamental rank in brackets.  It’s a score out of 30 and includes earnings\/sales growth, ROE, profit margins, management ownership and debt levels.<\/font><\/p>\n

\nBeat Estimates and Guided Higher<\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

• Ansys (ANSS)<\/strong> Technical & System Software, fundamental rank [26\/30],  up 7%<\/strong>, carving out right side of base (SLS)<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n

• Costar Group (CSGP)<\/strong> Business\/Management Services,  up 9%<\/strong>, breaking downtrend today<\/p>\n

• First Advantage (FADV) <\/strong>Business Management Services, up 9%<\/strong>, pushing above 200 dma, carving out big base<\/p>\n

• Given Imaging (GIVN)<\/strong> Medical Appliances & Equip, up 14%<\/font>, still seeking a bottom, looks to have done so in past few days<\/p>\n

• American Railroad (ARII) <\/strong>Railroads, up 15%<\/strong>, still below 200 dma<\/p>\n

• Itron (ITRI) <\/strong>Scientific & Techical Instruments, up 18%<\/strong>, carving out right side of ugly base<\/p>\n

• Netease (NTES) <\/strong>Internet Info Provider, up 10%<\/font>, carving out right side of new base<\/p>\n

• Sina.com (SINA) <\/strong>Internet Info Provider, down 4%<\/strong><\/font>, still below resistance of moving averages, trying to find a bottom<\/p>\n

• Terex (TX) <\/strong>Steel & Iron, up 4%<\/font>, carving out right side of new base<\/p>\n

• Blue Coat Systems (BCSI) <\/strong>Business Software & Services, down 5%<\/font><\/strong>, still submerged below resistance trying to begin a new base<\/p>\n

• Cryolife (CRYO) <\/strong>Medical Appliances & Equipment, up 11%<\/font>, carving out right side of new base, pushed above 200 dma today<\/p>\n

• Goldcorp (GG) <\/strong>Gold, up 2%<\/font>, briefly broke out from base on base pattern today before pulling back, technically quite strong<\/p>\n

• Interactive Data (IDC) <\/strong>Information & Delivery Service, up 5%<\/font>, carving out right side of new base<\/p>\n

\n• 3SBio (SSRX) <\/strong>Biotech, fundamental rank [27\/30] down 28%<\/strong>, ouch (SLS)

\n• Vasco Data Security (VDSI) <\/strong>Security Software & Services, down 37%<\/strong><\/font>, wow! was above 40 just a few months ago<\/p>\n

• Landamerica Financial (LFG) <\/strong>Surety & Title Insurance, down 8%<\/strong><\/font>, actually looking darn good technically after a steep correction<\/p>\n

• Lithia Motors (LAD) <\/strong>Auto Dealerships, down 28%<\/strong><\/font>, no bottom in sight<\/p>\n
